Everyday prays - their sense and value.

The present work is not translation of Siddur, but more likely its comment and interpretation. Citations and quotations from prays in Russian statement pursue basically the purpose to cover the main themes, ideas and the concepts containing in prays. In this case the author (as well as the translator) often tried to give own text translation there where he felt, that his version reflects an idea incorporated in the text more precisely.

Our daily prayers consist almost entirely of samples from the Tanakh (our Holy Bible) and the Talmud and their interpretations. The selection and order (hence the word "Siddur") of these prayers is the creativity of our Gd-inspired prophets and sages. Thus, our prayers expressed the eternal and the infinite word of Gd. We turn to God His own words, because human language is too poor and very limited in order to convey the sublime outpouring of our G-dly soul, - and in fact this is the main point Tefila ("Cardiac Services"), as detailed set out in the Introduction.

Composing and arranging the material of our daily prayers, our ancient sages and prophets tried to select those excerpts from the Bible and the Talmud, which are able to excite our deepest religious feelings and inspire us to bind all our heart to our Father in Heaven. At the same time, they also recognized the need to include in the prayer texts containing basic truths and ethical values and tenets of our faith, from elementary norms of morality and ethics, and to the highest concepts of pure monotheism, proclaimed by us in prayer Shema. They obviously wanted to ensure that the Siddur served as inspiration and goals at the same time was instructive. In other words, our siddur is designed to be not only a means of expression "service heart", but also the conductor of "serving the mind." This is where the need kavana - concentration of the heart and the mind. Indeed, because it is said that kava - is the very soul of prayer, and that "prayer without kavana like a body without a soul."

Unfortunately, human nature is such that the repetition of prayers every day, and some of the sections and three times a day, has the ability to reduce what should have been a profound experience of the everyday, until just a mindless reading. However, even just a cursory reading of daily prayers is valuable because it is not devoid of consciousness because of Gd and a sense of dependence on Him. However, in order that our prayers impressed our hearts and minds, necessarily knowing the inner meaning of their content, at least in general terms.

herefore, the main purpose of this commentary is to identify and demonstrate the profound content of our everyday molitv.Mozhno hope that the reader who will pay attention to reading the following pages, will find their knowledge of our daily prayers, to some extent, and it enriched our understanding of the Siddur more in-depth . And then his efforts and work of the author will be fully rewarded.
